3D rendering and VFX

Burst render capacity with hardware video encode.

Render farms without the farm

A render queue is the ideal cloud workload: entirely parallel, bursty, and finite. Spinning up eight 4090 instances for two hours costs about $7 and finishes a job that would take a single workstation a day and a half.

Encode matters

Ada-generation cards carry dual NVENC engines, which turns final-frame encoding from a CPU bottleneck into a background task. If your pipeline ends in ProRes or H.265 delivery, the L40S will save more wall-clock time than its raw render figures suggest.

Working with large scenes

  • RTX A6000 and L40S both carry 48 GB, which holds most production scenes without proxying
  • Attach a persistent volume for asset libraries so you are not re-uploading textures each run
  • Use the vanilla Ubuntu image if your renderer ships its own driver requirements
